Take Me Home

This body of work uses a mixed-media approach to telling a narrative. I explore the ongoing search of home—a concept I have sought to understand over the course of my life. To me, birds embody the nomad. Their seasonal migrations mirror my own patterns of constant relocation. They represent both the freedom and the anxiety that accompany a life of movement. I incorporate their silhouettes over figurative self-portraits, visually linking my identity to their transitory nature. I use wood cutouts, oil painting, sculptural elements, and bookbinding to bring the story together.
